It All Started in Grandma's Kitchen
Cliff's love for hot sauce goes all the way back to his childhood, growing up around his grandma's kitchen.
That's where his enthusiasm for making hot sauce began.
Over the years, that childhood interest turned into a lifelong passion. Cliff became a true hot sauce enthusiast, always enjoying the process of experimenting with flavors, peppers, and homemade recipes.
While most people know Cliff as the fiddle-playing, guitar-slinging half of Cliff & Susan, those closest to him also know about his love for a good hot sauce.
And eventually, that passion made its way from the kitchen to the stage.
How Our Fans Helped Create Spitfire Hot Sauce
One day, Cliff brought some of his homemade hot sauce to one of our shows.
As you can imagine, our fans had something to say about it!
We already had an original song called "Spitfire," and someone suggested:
"You should make a Spitfire Hot Sauce to go along with your song!"
And just like that, an idea was born.
The more we thought about it, the more it made sense. We had the song. We had Cliff's homemade hot sauce. And we had fans who wanted to see the two come together.
What started as a fun conversation at a show turned into a real product.
And the rest, as they say, is history.
Today, Spitfire Original Hot Sauce has gone from Cliff's homemade creation to professionally bottled hot sauce, complete with its own label, retail packaging, and a home on store shelves.
It's pretty exciting to see something that started in Grandma's kitchen become something people can enjoy in their own homes.

We're proud to call Arkansas home, and we're proud that Spitfire is made right here in the Natural State.
Spitfire Original Hot Sauce is manufactured by Old Hickory Sauce Company in Smackover, Arkansas, and distributed by Big Red Dog Productions LLC in Little Rock.
Working with a professional Arkansas sauce manufacturer allowed us to take Cliff's homemade creation and bring it to more people.
From the original idea to the finished bottles, Spitfire is a product we're excited to share with our fans, Arkansas retailers, and hot sauce lovers everywhere.

Ingredients: Water, sweet potatoes, habaneros, apple cider vinegar, lime juice concentrate, lemon juice concentrate, serranos, black truffle salt, sugar, onion powder, chile de árbol, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
