SUSAN ERWIN
BIO

Susan Erwin has taken the show rooms of Las Vegas by storm! Performing 5 and 6 nights a week to thousands of people from all over the world, in major venues including New York New York, Paris, Harrah's, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, The Palazzo, Monte Carlo, MGM Grand and others - Susan's versatile voice, impressive skills as a mutli-instrumentalist, dynamic stage presence, and rare ability to make every person in the audience feel a part of the show, have made her a top artist in the greatest entertainment city in the world.   Susan is also booked as a solo artist in various Caribbean venues, such as St. Maarten and Aruba.

Susan discovered her passion for music when she was growing up in Magnet Cove, Arkansas, a typical southern small-town community on her parent's farm.  As a child she took classical piano lessons and later began performing in churches, pageants and talent contests. After graduating from high school as Class President, Valedictorian, and 4-sport athlete, she attended the University of Central Arkansas where she was a member of the Honors College, the university jazz band, and was President of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority-Upsilon Chapter.  Susan competed in the 2001 Miss Arkansas Pageant as Miss University of Central Arkansas, and again the following year as Miss Saline River.

After graduating with a degree in Pure Mathematics, Susan took a job as a Radio Frequency Engineer with Alltel Telecommunications, but soon made the daring decision to leave her "day job" in the corporate world and devote herself to a full-time career in music. After a few years of working her way up through local piano bars, shows in Branson, Missouri, and finally a lucrative house gig in Los Angeles, Susan made the move to Las Vegas where her "calculated risk" (as she calls it) paid off, and her dream of success in the entertainment industry became a reality.

SELF PORTRAIT

Have you ever found yourself so engulfed and overtaken by something that you lost track of time, all worries and almost everything except for that very thing? I have had this happen several times in life. Writing in my purple, pink, and silver journal at age 7 until graduation. Training for and playing basketball in high school. Flying airplanes. Creating art, drawings, poems, sewing. And the biggest one for me: Music.

I grew up thinking that all of these passions were to be hobbies, and when we grow up, we get a job we tolerate to pay bills so we can have fun on the weekends and two weeks of vacation. Somehow the forces of the universe or my innate gravitational pull to music allowed me to stumble upon Dueling Pianos, which has proven to pay the bills AND allow me to lose myself in total joy when I’m on stage.

I left a corporate engineering job in 2005 and have since made music my career and life. And I have never been happier! You can take “things” away from people, but you can’t take away their memories, knowledge and experiences. I am so thankful for parents who provided me with experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in music and in life.

Music is my life. Music has saved my life. And it’s my job, but I’d do it for free.....(shh!)….and to me, that is total bliss!

Best,
